One of the things I love about podcasts is the range of topics, skill sets and production levels. Given the incredible technology out there, pretty much anyone can start up a podcast. Some of them turn out to be phenomenal and some, not so great.
That said, there is real joy in a beautifully produced, thoughtful, professional podcast and Invisibilia is exactly that. Award winning NPR journalists, Alix Spiegel and Hanna Rosin, bring listeners ambitious, well researched, perfectly produced stories of the invisible forces that shape human behavior.
The last episode in their 4th season, The Callout, blew my socks off. It’s an exploration into the “Me Too” movement in the Richmond, Virginia hardcore punk music scene. Totally riveting.
My only complaint is that there are only a few episodes each season. The scope of each show is so large I can understand why, but I’m always anxiously awaiting the next season.
