There are many people who are already sick of the 2018 election. Well, if you are already sick of this election then it’s possible you don’t have much at stake in the outcome. Maybe for you not much changed when Trump was elected.
But for millions of people that hasn’t been the case.
So please stay with me as I make this recommendation. Here is a chance to help correct the trajectory our common ship of state is currently on.
Now some of you might be thinking, “But the economy is doing well.” And you would be right. It is.
And some of you might be thinking, “But unemployment is at record lows.” Right again. It is.
And here is when I say, “We as a nation put children in cages so obviously something is seriously rotten in Denmark. ” It is time to clean house.
Who’s with me? Well, electronically speaking. Because you can’t come over to my house, it has been ages since I vacuumed.
If you haven’t heard about it, Sister District Project is a great way to start your election year involvement. What do these people do? I will quote their website:
“Sister District aims to ensure that all Americans have equal representation and our government works for all people, not just the minority in power. We organize volunteers into local teams based on where they live, and “sister” this deep blue energy with swing districts across the country to support strategic state races that matter. We are open to volunteers and candidates of all genders.”
Sister District focuses on State Legislatures rather than national races because, “State level campaigns are often small and under-nourished—our volunteers’ dollars and hard work can have an outsized impact.”
Feeling fired up? I know I am and that’s not just because it’s 107 degrees today where I live. Please visit Sister District’s website at www.sisterdistrict.com to see if this is the right path for you.
And if you already have a group or a cause you are passionate about, let us know and we will feature it here.
Let’s get this thing moving.
