I am writing this on Thursday, September 27th, 2018 a day most people probably won’t remember, at least without prompting, a few years from now. Supreme Court Nomination proceedings where Dr. Ford sat before a panel of mostly inconceivably powerful rich white men and told the world a painful portion of her life story.
But for some people who lived through it, today is a day that will live within their own personal infamy. Today is the day a second Supreme Court nominee was accused of sexual misconduct and if history repeats itself we will be seeing his smug face on the bench for the next 30 years. Right next to Clarence Thomas.
Here’s a pro tip for nominating Supreme Court Justices. If you nominate a woman it is highly unlikely she will be embroiled in a sex scandal.
So, your recipe for today is to eat or drink something you really like then go to bed as early as possible. And throw your smartphone in the trash.
It has brought you no good news today. And is unlikely to bring you better news anytime soon.
And for anyone reading this, male or female, who had a terrible time listening to the proceedings today, I am so sorry this happened to you. I know it isn’t my fault but someone should say they are sorry. And so I am sorry.

It’s up to you.
You are not alone.
