Tasty is fun to watch, but I have to admit that I have only ever made one thing from it and that didn’t turn out very well. I am more than willing to say that the failure is probably my fault since, as I have said on many occasions, I am not a very knowledgeable cook. And that is my problem with Tasty as a recipe app. The basic things are stuff I already know and for the more advanced stuff, I need more information than is provided.
That being said, my older son swears by the recipes. He says he has made many of them and that they tend to turn out well. But, he has far more natural talent in the kitchen than I do. Older son has also expressed interest in buying the One Top Cooking System Tasty sells. Unfortunately for him, the system is kind of expensive for a kid just out of college. Also, he might be working on political campaigns for the foreseeable future, so it’ll be cheap motels and living out of a suitcase until November. Spending any money on cooking equipment that is destined for my garage is not a good idea. But I do wonder if the whole system is worth the investment. If anyone out there has bought this system and has been using it, I would love to hear about how it is going. If it’s any good I might buy it for older son for Christmas.
And Tasty, feel free to send me one for free. I won’t review it, I will have older son do it because I really don’t want to deal with it. I have enough trouble with my microwave. It promises to make me popcorn and then burns it every time. I now use this weird old fashioned thing and it is delicious! A friend of mine said to make popcorn on the stovetop but, well, no. Not unless it’s JiffyPop. I wonder if you can make popcorn on the Tasty One Top thing?
Someone let me know.
And I have to say that even though I never make any of the recipes, I watch the little recipe videos all the time. They are fun to watch and younger son really likes watching them as well. So, as an entertainment app I really like it, but as a source of recipes, it doesn’t work for me.
